August 28, 2012
According to mobile-security experts, if you use a mobile device and access the Web via cloud service or app, you should be very concerned about the vulnerability of your personal information. Security experts say there are major security problems that could put your personal information at risk.
Fortunately, AirWatch (News - Alert), a provider of mobile security, Mobile Device Management (MDM), Mobile Application Management (MAM), Mobile Content Management (MCM), Mobile Email Management (MEM) and BYOD management, has unveiled integration with Apple Configurator for mass deployment and configuration of iPhone (News - Alert) and iPad devices.
AirWatch provides enterprise-grade mobile security solutions to customers all over the world. AirWatch helps deploy, secure, monitor and manage an enterprise's entire fleet of Android, Apple iOS, Apple Mac OS X, Blackberry, Symbian, Windows Mobile and Windows Phone (News - Alert) devices.
Now, AirWatch’s integration with Apple Configurator allows enterprises and educational institutions to prepare device deployments with a central configuration, mass configure settings, and install public App Store and in-house apps and update devices to the latest iOS version.
“Through our first-to-market integration with Apple (News
- Alert) Configurator, we are pleased to be at the forefront of innovation in mobile security and mobile management for scaled deployments,” said John Marshall, CEO of AirWatch. “Enterprises and educational institutions will both benefit from this integration, where mass configuration and management of Apple devices is critical.”
Additionally, Apple Configurator enables automatic application of a configuration to shared devices in a classroom or retail store after each use, the activation of devices without completing the iOS Setup Assistant, the configuration and back-up preferences including lock screen wallpaper, home screen layout and others, as well as the prevention of supervised devices from syncing to a different Mac computer.
AirWatch’s integration with Apple Configurator leverages Apple Configurator to automatically install the AirWatch MDM profile during device registration, provide real-time visibility of mobile devices and assets over-the-air (OTA), utilize AirWatch’s OTA management to provision additional configuration profiles and applications to devices, and use AirWatch’s capabilities for certificate management, compliance monitoring, and remote wipe/locks.
