AirWatch's Mobile Content Management Spans Many Enterprises

Mobile security management is becoming quite a hot topic as mobile device use increases. As the workforce becomes more mobile, the need for quick access to applications, emails, company network files and other business-related information becomes priority. However, IT managers are mitigating the risks when it comes to securing the network while keeping their mobile users connected and able to access necessary information.


AirWatch, a provider of mobile security management solutions, recently announced its support for Windows Phone (News - Alert) 8, allowing users of the device to take advantage of all the security features they offer while using the latest in Windows phone technology. In addition to the latest Windows Phone 8 support, the company has been touting its AirWatch (News - Alert) Secure Content Locker, its mobile content management solution (MCM).

The AirWatch Secure Content Locker enables employees to access corporate resources on-the-go without having to compromise security. Enterprises of all kinds have benefitted from using the MCM offering, from aviation to retail.

United Airlines has gotten with the tech times and started handing out electronic flight manuals to its pilots in lieu of paper ones. While saving a metric ton in paper costs and jet fuel costs, and the file distribution and use is all thanks to AirWatch Secure Content Locker. When the documents need a revision, no one has to scrap their old versions for a new version and waste more paper. Instead, the company can just reissue updated files straight to mobile devices.

Bandalux, who provides fashionable blinds for residential and contract use, has also taken advantage of MCM to release their latest sales numbers and figures to remote employees.

“We use the AirWatch Secure Content Locker to give our sales team the latest sales presentations, videos and information to share with potential and current customers,” said Antonio Saiz, IT administrator at Bandalux.

The benefits included with Secure Content Locker include authentication, compliance, access, sharing and geofencing and it can support multiple document types, including Office, iWork, PDF, JPG, audio and video.

According to the company, AirWatch Secure Content Locker ensures that content stays with the desired contacts through their enterprise-grade security features.
